The year is 210 B.C. and evil Chinese Warlord, Xié\’è de huángdì rules the land through torture, intimidation, fear, and murder. Xié\’è becomes obsessed with the idea of ruling the entire world and living forever like God on earth. He seeks out the knowledge of a mysterious and mystical soothsayer who is famous for accurately foretelling the future.
The strange fortuneteller informs the evil emperor that he does indeed see that the warlord is destined to rule the world, however, not in the current time they live in. He tells Xié\’è de huángdì that he must remain alive for more than two thousand years until a time in history when he can control the war technology of the future, (nuclear power).
The soothsayer tells the emperor that he knows of a brilliant alchemist who is working on a secret potion that has the ability to put a human being into state of suspended animation where they do not age until they are reanimated at a future time. The emperor kidnaps the alchemist and his family and forces him to finish his work on the magical potion and then put he and his entire army of ruthless killers into an ageless sleep until the year 2020.
Now in the present, we are introduced to the man who is destined to save the world from the evil emperor and his blood-thirsty warriors. Zax Stone is a professional ping-pong player who has no idea what an enormous role he is about to play in the history of the world until the beautiful daughter of the ancient alchemist, (Jia Lee) shows up and explains everything to him. She herself was also secretly put to sleep by her father so she could awaken in the future and find the only man with the inner strength capable of facing off with the world\’s most powerful and evil megalomaniac who is about to rise like the dead from his secret buried tomb.
To prepare Zax for his epic battle, Jia Lee teaches him martial arts, eastern philosophy, and ancient Chinese war strategies. Through their year long training sessions the two fall madly in love and vow to face the warlord together.
